Newest Member of the Family

We are happy to introduce our newest little member of the family: Stella Luna. This little kitten has been at our home now for almost 2 months, but it seems like she has been ours forever. She is TINY....6 months old and the size of a 3 month old. YET, like other things in our house: Though she is small, she is but FIERCE. FIERCELY lovable that it is!
Alex carries her everywhere, holds her constantly and snuggles her non-stop. Stella loves it!

Watching the rain....

While Oma was here, she knitted Stella her own little "mouse pad." If the boys leave her alone long enough, you can find her curled up on her little mouse pad snoozing contentedly.

Christmas Catch-up

The Christmas season kicked off with the arrival of Oma and Opa, which, of course, means YUMMY FOOD! Noah is a budding little chef--here he is learning how to prepare Raclette.

Alex had his theatrical debut in our church's Nativity play. He played his part of a camel very well! He even pretended to enjoy it a little! He has come a LONG way from the days of sitting on stage sucking his thumb.

There was even a little Christmas miracle in our home: I (yes, I) "made" spaetzle!! Ok, so Oma made the dough, but I scraped these little puppies for over an hour off of a board.

Oma is always good for a surprise: The boys woke one morning to their very own Hutzelbrot--with their initials on it and everything!

Of course there were presents:

Camping:

AND...>Angry Birds. Yes, this is photographic evidence of Oma as she started her Angry Birds obsession. Look at that finger!!!

Oma and I (with the help of Inky) making a blanket for our little amigo!

Finally, a lot of sheer exhaustion in the evening.....

A great time was had by all. The house is very quiet (relatively speaking) now that Oma and Opa have gone back to MI. We miss them, but we know they can't stay away too long....

Christmas Tree and Santa

Once again we headed to the Blind School for their annual fundraiser: Selling "U-Chop" Christmas trees. It was not nearly as picture perfect as last year, but we still had a good time.

The highlight this year certainly was the visit with Mr. and Mrs. Clause. Alex's nervousness about sitting on Santa's lap was overcome by his need to tell him that he wants a Transformer for Christmas.

Noah chattin' it up with the Big Guy.

Thanksgiving et. seq.

A little late on this post. We had quite the week with Oma and Opa in town. Lots of great food, playtime, and even a new member to the family....that I shall save for another post.
Noah was quite the little chef when it came to making cranberry sauce...

Alex "helping" Oma cut the apples for stuffing!

Little playtime

And what is the first thing you should do when you wake up at 7:00 am? Play Play-Doh of course!

Followed by some Candy Land....

A little fresh air while sporting the latest fashions...

Time to decorate!
