I Been Through the Desert on a Horse with No Name

Well, actually:
1) It was not me, it was Noah
2) It was not the desert, it was...um...our neighbor's driveway (yes, you read correctly); and
3) The horse DOES have a name...her name is Cameo.

Ribfest 2010

Our dear neighbors whipped up a MEAN batch of ribs for the hood on Saturday--WOW!! The kids even got to make their own ice cream. A GREAT time was had by all splashing in the pool, playing with friends and sharing an awesome meal.

Stoned

It's not how it sounds. On Friday morning Noah tripped and hit his head on a slate step on the way in to school. After being knocked out for 5 hours (ok...so it SEEMED that long)....5 seconds, he woke up to a bloody mess; he had cut his forehead wide open. The people at Clarian North's ER got him patched up and hooked up with a Thomas the Train DVD, so all was good for Noah. (Mommy, however, could have used a shot of tequila or something....).
A CT scan, stitches, ketamine, 2 popsicles and 2 stuffed bears later, we were on our way home....

My Dear Noah, WHY do you do these things? You live your little life on the edge ALL THE TIME, and it was bound to catch up with you. I love you with all my heart, but you MUST stop taking years off of my life like this!!

Catching Up on Tball

Another game under our belts. Alex still REFUSES to wear his team jersey, so in these pics he looks like he is on the red team...oops. BUT, he played and had a good time!!

Safe at 1st base!

Running to 2nd
Ready for anything....sorta.
Good game!

“If You Give a Mom A Muffin” By Kathy Fictorie (based on books by Laura Numeroff)

If you give a mom a muffin, she’ll want a cup of coffee to go with it. She’ll pour herself some. The coffee will get spilled by her three year old. She’ll wipe it up. Wiping the floor, she will find some dirty socks. She’ll remember she has to do some laundry. When she puts the laundry in the washer, she’ll trip over some snow boots and bump into the freezer. Bumping into the freezer will remind her she has to plan supper for tonight. She will get out a pound of hamburger. She’ll look for her cookbook. (101 Things to Make with a Pound of Hamburger). The cookbook is sitting under a pile of mail. She will see the phone bill which is due tomorrow. She will look for her checkbook. The checkbook is in her purse that is being dumped out by her two year old. She’ll smell something funny. She’ll change the two year old. While she is changing the two year old the phone will ring (Of course!) Her five year old will answer it and hang up. She remembers that she wants to phone a friend to come for coffee on Friday. Thinking of coffee will remind her that she was going to have a cup. She will pour herself some. And chances are, If she has a cup of coffee, Her kids will have eaten the muffin that went with it!

WHAT THE DUCK cont.

Seems we have a new resident at Casa Geppert....well, thankfully, NOT IN the casa, but right outside! This is the corner flowerbed....quite lovely....and....

Apparently a good place to start a family:

So far we have 2 "deposits" made by Mama Duck...one each day. Did you know that ducks lay one egg a day until they are done, and THEN she sits on them to incubate them? Who knew!

The canal is about a quarter mile from our house, so I am hoping this Mama knows what she is doing.

Can I claim these as tax deductions????

Car Wash

What do you do on a warm but rainy Sunday morning? Get MORE wet and play "car wash" with your amigos! Eddie joined the boys for some soapy fun this weekend...the results were: 1) very clean "cars;" and 2) very WET boys!
What better way to end a hard day's work than grilling with your Opa!!??
